Project Description

Works comprised construction of a new 52.67km section of Burkett Road near Exmouth. Works also comprised the construction of flood ways in the heavy rainfall area and extensive rock excavation. Burkett Road now connects the North West Coastal Highway with Exmouth Highway. The environment was rehabilitated to a sound state following project completion.

Special Features/Challenges:

The works were completed with due care in recognition of the area as significant to Aboriginal heritage.
Undertaking works in a remote area required the installation of an onsite camp and significant logistical considerations.
